December 14, 2021, Prairie View, TX — Effective immediately, the Prairie View A&M Foundation (PVAMF), a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Houston will accept charitable donations in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in support of Prairie View A&M University.
Given the rise in value and popularity of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, PVAMF chose to diversify its revenue streams by accepting crypto donations.
“We know how critical it is that we expand our impact, and we’re thrilled to do it through our ability to accept not just Bitcoin, but over 40 different types of crypto,” said Megan Reed, Executive Director at the Prairie View A&M Foundation. “Crypto-philanthropy is a burgeoning industry with endless impact potential and we are proud to be on the forefront of it in the name of our mission to support Prairie View A&M University. This also provides incredible tax benefits to our crypto donors”.
PVAMF will be joined in crypto fundraising efforts this #BagSeason by its partner, The Giving Block, which provides technological solutions and support to charities that want to accept cryptocurrency donations.
#BagSeason is the annual fundraising season that runs throughout the month of December and aims to highlight the nonprofits that accept crypto and inspire crypto HODLers to #GiveCrypto to charitable causes before the end of the calendar year.
Supporters can donate crypto to PVAMU at: www.pvamf.org/crypto-currency.
